Little Known Ways to Overcome Adversity
Are you curious about why some people quit at the initial sign of trouble and others embrace it with grace? When faced with hardship do you feel energized or down? No matter where you are on this scale, I'm pretty sure that you'd love to become a person who feels energized whenever you are faced with difficulties. The good news isthat this is much less complicated than many people believe it is. It just takes just a few minor tweaks to your brain about how you think about things. To return to my original question, if you've ever wondered how two people can react in opposite ways when faced with the same situation, it is a result of how they process the information in their brain. Consider, for instance, two tennis players who travel across the nation to compete in a prestigious tournament that they've been hoping for all through the year. When they arrive, they are informed that their bags containing all of their tennis racquets went missing and they have to play with unfamiliar equipment. Player "A" thinks to himself , "this is just my luck' and thinks about how unfair this is and how his dreams of winning are now ruined. Meanwhile player "B" considers that this is a tragic event, but now I have the opportunity to show people how dominate I am , if I do very well or win using an untested tennis racquet.' For more information please visit:- Based on how each player dealt with what transpired What do you think is more likely to perform effectively in the event? If you were player "B," pat yourself on the back. As the player "A" took what happened personally and began catastrophizing (i.e. believing that this would lead to a catastrophe) However, player "B" recognized that such things happen and immediately put it in a perspective where it could provide benefit to him. Perhaps surprisingly, when unfortunate or terrible things happen to people who suffer, the vast majority do not realize they are undercutting themselves and making the situation even worse. They do this by allowing terrible events to occupy their minds. While participant "A" was overwhelmed by "his" fate and the way it was going to wreck everything, player "B" was able to accept that things like this can happen often and focused on what the player could do. If you'd like to learn how to manage challenges better, the first step is to understand how not to take bad circumstances that come your way personally. When you personalize misfortune and feel that it is unnecessarily worse and can lead you down a path that leads to despair and hopelessness. The most effective way to attain this fresh and improved mindset, is to realize and accept that bad things happen to everybody. After accepting that sometimes things don't go as planned, is to focus your energy on dealing with the problem and find ways to be utilized to gain advantage. The second step is in learning to be able to control the things you can control and how to let go everything else.
